Leukaemia Educating & Fundraising

Was founded from a hospital bed in 2006 by Natasha Jones, Natasha was diagnosed with Leukaemia just 3 weeks after giving birth to her second son. She six months in isolation at Poole Hospital, it was during this period she decided something positive should come from her own suffering and experience, so Leaf was born. The charity supports blood cancer patients by providing family holidays, days out, health club memberships, and practical help at home for recently discharged patients. They also support the Dorset Cancer Center at Poole Hospital and make regular donations to Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.

Leaf‘s branching out with a helping hand (Press release)

My Veg Box a local organic fruit and vegetable delivery company have very kindly chosen Leaf ~ Leukaemia Educating & Fundraising as their charity of the year.  My Veg Box is a new venture, their objective is to make organic fruit and vegetables easily available to everyone at home or in the work place, by offering high quality good food that doesn’t cost the earth. Customers place their orders on line and pick a delivery day that suits them.

Sara Haymes secretary for Leaf  "I have had delivery of my first mixed box and I have been extremely impressed with the quality of the fruit and veg I received, and also how quick and easy it was to order on line". My Veg Box "we wanted to choose a local charity to work with, and after hearing Natasha’s inspiring experience with Leukaemia we made the decision to support Leaf". We will be doing this in a variety of ways thought-out 2011, customers will have the option when they make a purchase to donate £1.00 to Leaf.

Natasha Jones and Sara Haymes (who by the way both work voluntary for Leaf) know that they need to raise the charities profile. We believe we can help them do this as well as helping them to raise more funds for blood cancer patients who live locally.
